First Collector's Bottle Château Margaux 2015

The primary reason is the exceptional quality The 2015 vintage benefited from optimal weather conditions. We can compare this vintage to 2005, 2009, and 2010.

THE Château Margaux celebrated its 200th anniversary since the conception of the Château in 1815. Furthermore, the 2015 vintage was the first to benefit from fermentation in the new winery designed by Lord Norman Foster. This winery now houses around one hundred vats (previously around twenty).

Finally, this vintage is a tribute to the last vintage produced by Paul Pontallier, appointed General Manager of Château Margaux in 1990. Behind him, he leaves the traces of his 33 years of dedication to Château Margaux. This emotional aspect of the 2015 vintage is engraved in gold lettering at the bottom of the bottle: Tribute to Paul Pontallier.

The scores for this special cuvée were very flattering: Wine Advocate 98-100, Jean-Marc Quarin 98, Vinous 95-98 and James Suckling 100. While the en primeur release price was €450 excluding VAT per bottle, the average Wine Decider price was €673 excluding VAT as of November 16, 2017. This vintage should be physically released on the market in early 2018 after several months of aging.

A very beautiful bottle that marks the history of Château Margaux !
