Thursday, September 8, 2022, the new edition of the rankings Saint-Émilion was published by theINAOThis is the 7th revision since its creation in 1955This ranking was created at the initiative of the Winegrowers' Union wines from Saint-Émilion, who wished to establish a guarantee of quality wines of the appellation. Note that an initial wine inspection had already been implemented in 1948 by tasting. This ranking is revised every 10 years; the last edition in 2012 was contested until May 2022. The big winners of the 2022 rankings
Unsurprisingly, the big winner of this 2022 ranking is the Château Figeac, promoted Grand Cru Classé HAS alongside the Château PaviaThis development recognizes the work done by the family. A tumultuous start but newfound credibility
Before the consecration of Château Figeac, the ranking had been criticized and marked by the departure of the castles Ausonius, Cheval Blanc And AngélusThe three properties did not meet the ranking criteria.
