In 2017, the estate was bought by one of the biggest names in the wine industry.BordeauxThis is aboutJean-Michel Cazes(owner notably of the renownedChâteau Lynch-Bages). The estate was then passed from one emblematic family (Borie) of the Pauillac and Médoc vineyards to another (the Cazes).

On the lands of Bordeaux
A terroir of very high quality
THEChâteau Haut-Batailleyis located very close to the famous town ofPauillacThe terroir, quite simply exceptional, allows for the production of wines of remarkable quality, recognized throughout the world. To date, the vineyard ofChâteau Haut-BatailleyThe estate covers approximately 40 hectares, 22 of which are already planted on deep Garonne gravel soils. The natural conditions are ideal for wine production. The grape varieties include 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, and 5% Cabernet Franc. The vines are on average 35 years old and are cultivated using traditional methods, including plowing. The estate is committed to minimizing the use of pesticides.

From earth to glass
Since 2009, the estate has benefited from new facilities in the winery and fermentation cellar. These renovations have allowed the estate to make significant progress in terms of quality. Vinification is now carried out in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The estate's wines are aged for 16 to 20 months in oak barrels, most of which are new.Château Haut-Batailleyproduces two wines:
THE "Château Haut-Batailley"which is aged for 14 to 20 months in oak barrels. It is produced from Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. This wine shows great finesse; it is supple and pleasant.
THE "Château La Tour L'Aspic" is the estate's second wine, produced from Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. Vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks, and aging occurs in barrels, one-third of which are new. This process results in a very balanced and rounded wine.
ThereCazes family,The newly appointed manager of the estate plans to improve the technical facilities and expand the vineyard. The estate is therefore well on its way to continuing its already remarkable development!
