The story of Domaine Pierre et Anne Boisson

A breath of fresh air

In 1940 and 1950, the first vines were planted to cultivate Aligoté. From the 1980s onwards, Bernard Boisson has been running a vineyard inCôte de Beaunebased inMeursaultIt was only gradually that he acquired new plots of land. At that time, the estate was calledBoisson-Vadot, in reference to the family name Boisson and Vadot, the wife of Bernard Boisson.

2017 was marked by the takeover of the estate by the couple's children.Anne and Pierre Boissonwhich separates it into three entities:

• the parents, represented by theDomaine Boisson-Vadot(3.5 hectares),
• the son via theDomaine Pierre Boisson(3.5 hectares)
• and the girl via theDomaine Anne Boisson(1.5 hectares).

On the lands of Meursault

A prestigious terroir, high-quality wines

Although virtually unknown a few years ago, this family business is increasingly making a name for itself.Domaine Boissonbecomes a well-known and recognized field ofMeursaultThe vineyards are indeed located on 10 hectares in prestigious appellations such asMeursault, Auxey-Duresses and Bourgogne Aligoté.They therefore benefit from a very high-quality terroir. The estate also has vineyards inPommard and Monthéliefor red wines.The Meursault, Les Grands Charrons and Chevalières wines, as well as the Meursault 1er cru Genevrières wines.These are the most illustrious plots of land in the estate.

Within theDomaine Boisson,It is traditional know-how that is valued. It is important for this family to work "the old-fashioned way," favoring manual labor. This is why the harvest is done exclusively by hand, and why the vines receive no chemical herbicides, fertilizers, or other synthetic products.

Winemaking at Domaine Boisson

Vineyard management

Brother and sister divided the vineyard plots between them. Some wines bear Pierre's signature, others Anne's, but always of a remarkable standard. Since the children joined the estate, rigorous and precise work has been carried out. The new generation embodies a fresh approach to Meurthe-et-Moselle wines, reminiscent of the Coche-Dury signature. The wines are perfectly in tune with the times, in a refined and taut style: magnificent!

Furthermore, theDomaine BoissonIt favors long aging periods, which can last up to 21 months, with gentle stirring. This operation consists of stirring the fine lees of the wine that settle at the bottom of the barrels or vats during vinification and/or aging.Domaine Boisson,The stirring is done gently, at a rate of about twenty times a year.

Furthermore, very few new casks are used to avoid too strong an imprint. Only theMeursaultbenefit from a low percentage of new oak (barely 25%). The wine is then bottled unfiltered. Within theDomaine Boisson, all decisions are made according to the typical characteristics of the vintage.

Everything is done to allow the terroir to express itself as naturally as possible, without artifice or makeup. Purity, elegance, and balance are guaranteed!
