We are pleased to present our selection of Vacqueyras wines, available for purchase on our website Cavissima.com . If you are looking for an elegant and structured red wine from a unique terroir, you will find what you are looking for in our selection.
Vacqueyras is a protected designation of origin (AOC) in the Rhône Valley wine region, located in southern France. The Vacqueyras terroir is characterized by soils of rolled pebbles and sand , as well as a hot, dry climate with optimal sun exposure. The vines are planted on steep slopes, which allows for good natural irrigation and optimal ripening of the grapes.
Vacqueyras red wines are made from Grenache Noir (minimum 50%), Syrah (minimum 20%), and Mourvèdre (minimum 20%) grapes, which impart complex aromas of red fruit, spice, leather, and garrigue. Vacqueyras wines are known for their power, elegance, and aging potential. The soils of rolled pebbles and sand, along with a warm, dry climate, contribute to the structure and unique character of Vacqueyras red wines.
The white wines of Vacqueyras are made from grape varieties such as Bourboulenc , Grenache Blanc , Clairette , and Roussanne . These wines are characterized by aromas of citrus, white flowers, and stone fruit, as well as a lively and refreshing acidity. The soils of rolled pebbles and sand, along with a warm, dry climate, allow the grapes to ripen slowly, preserving their freshness and vibrancy.
Montirius Estate
Domaine Montirius is one of the leading estates in the Vacqueyras appellation. Founded in 1980 by Christine and Éric Saurel , this estate quickly gained renown for the quality of its wines, crafted with respect for the environment and winemaking traditions. The estate's vines have been cultivated organically since 1996 and biodynamically since 1999, with the aim of preserving biodiversity and soil health. Domaine Montirius wines are made from Grenache Noir, Syrah, and Mourvèdre grapes for the reds, and Bourboulenc, Grenache Blanc, and Roussanne for the whites. The reds are characterized by their elegance, finesse, and aromatic complexity, while the whites are distinguished by their freshness, vibrancy, and minerality.
At Cavissima.com , we are proud to offer a selection of wines from Domaine Montirius , allowing you to discover the wines of this iconic appellation of the Rhône Valley.
