The Château Duhart-Milon vineyard covers approximately 76 hectares of terroir composed of fine gravel mixed with sand over a clay-limestone subsoil, typical of Pauillac. These well-drained, poor soils encourage deep root development, essential to the wine's aromatic complexity. The vines, averaging 30 years old, are cultivated using sustainable practices that respect the environment and the natural cycle of the seasons. This meticulous care ensures an authentic expression of the terroir in every vintage.

Owner and history

Château Duhart-Milon has belonged to Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) since 1962, thanks to the Rothschild family, renowned for their exacting standards of quality. Under the direction of Saskia de Rothschild, the estate pursues a quest for excellence through respectful viticulture and continuous investment in its production facilities. This vision combines respect for tradition with modernity, allowing Duhart-Milon to offer wines of exemplary finesse and consistency, recognized worldwide. Each vintage testifies to meticulous attention to quality and respect for its illustrious terroir.

Vinification and aging

True to Médoc traditions, Château Duhart-Milon benefits from exceptional expertise, combining rigorous grape selection and precise winemaking. After hand-harvesting, the berries are carefully sorted and then fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine is aged for 14 to 16 months in French oak barrels, 50% of which are new, to impart fine tannins and a subtle oak influence that enhances the wine's structure.
