The Château Haut-Brion vineyard, located in Pessac southwest of Bordeaux, covers 51 hectares, of which 48 are dedicated to red grape varieties (Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot) and nearly 3 to white grape varieties (Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Gris). The soil, composed of gravel mixed with clay and sand, rests on a unique subsoil of limestone and faluns (a type of volcanic rock). This exceptional terroir, formed at the end of the Tertiary period, benefits from optimal natural drainage and an ideal microclimate for producing wines of unparalleled quality.

Since 1935, the Dillon family has owned Château Haut-Brion, under the management of Domaine Clarence Dillon. Today, chaired by Prince Robert of Luxembourg, the estate perpetuates a historic savoir-faire while incorporating cutting-edge innovations. Vinification and aging

At Château Haut-Brion, winemaking and aging are a meticulous and time-honored art. The grapes, carefully sorted and destemmed, ferment under precise temperature control, allowing for optimal extraction of tannins, aromas, and color. After fermentation, the finest wines are selected to age for 18 to 20 months in new oak barrels, where they refine through gentle oxygenation and traditional racking.
