The vineyard spans 12 hectares of exceptional terroir, situated at the junction of the Pomerol gravels and the blue clays typical of Saint-Émilion. This complex, well-drained soil, combined with a subsoil rich in iron oxide, allows for a slow and even ripening of the grapes. The vines, averaging 35 years old, are cultivated with care using sustainable viticulture practices. This respect for the environment, combined with meticulous observation of each plot, guarantees a faithful expression of the terroir and the wine's natural balance.

Owner and history

Since 1871, the Nicolas family has been at the helm of Château La Conseillante, passing down passion and expertise from generation to generation. Now managed by Marielle Cazaux, the estate has undergone remarkable technical modernization while preserving its heritage. Their vision is based on excellence and respect for the terroir, with sustainable viticulture and a constant quest for balance and precision. This commitment is reflected in each vintage by wines of exemplary consistency, acclaimed by international critics.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Château La Conseillante takes place in a temperature-controlled, plot-by-plot winery, allowing for the preservation of the unique character of each batch. After precise fermentations, the wine is aged in French oak barrels for 18 months, approximately 70% of which are new.
The 2024 vintage benefits from this precision, offering a harmonious, concentrated and highly elegant wine.
