Tasting notes

Château l'Eglise-Clinet 2024 displays a deep purple color with violet highlights. The nose opens with intense aromas of black fruit and cedar. On the palate, the wine is dense and structured, with fine tannins and a tight texture. The finish is long and precise, marked by remarkable freshness and notes of sweet spice.

Food & wine pairings

This great Pomerol wine pairs wonderfully with a rack of roast lamb, a stuffed pigeon or a tournedos Rossini.

The Château l'Eglise-Clinet vineyard rests on a soil of blue clay and deep gravel, typical of Pomerol. The vines, mostly old, are cultivated with meticulous care, respecting both the plant and biodiversity. This painstaking work in the vineyard ensures a natural concentration of the grapes and a pure expression of the terroir.

Owner and history

Since the passing of Denis Durantou, an emblematic figure of the Right Bank, his family and loyal team have continued his work with the same exacting standards. Faithful to the founder's spirit, they combine innovation and respect for tradition to continually raise the bar for excellence at Château l'Eglise-Clinet, while preserving the integrity of the terroir and the unique character of each vintage.

Vinification and aging

The winemaking process at Château l'Eglise-Clinet is carried out plot by plot, with very rigorous sorting of the hand-harvested grapes. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, with precise monitoring of extraction. The wine is then aged for 18 to 20 months in French oak barrels, 80% of which are new, imparting complexity and structure without masking the fruit.
