    Owner and history

    The reputation of Château Malartic-Lagravière's exceptional terroir is well established. The vines receive ideal water, even during severe droughts. This is largely due to the layer of gravel, which provides excellent surface drainage, as well as the subsoil of shelly limestone, composed of fossils from warm seas and veins of clay. Consequently, the combination of highly permeable soil, ideal sun exposure, and reduced sensitivity to climatic variations creates ideal conditions for vine growth and, therefore, the production of one of the finest wines of Léognan.
