Château Cantemerle spans 98 hectares of vineyards, where vines with an average age of 40 years thrive. This emblematic terroir of the Haut-Médoc, composed of siliceous-gravelly soils, offers an ideal setting for the flourishing of the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot grape varieties.

Owner and history

Since 1981, Château Cantemerle has belonged to the SMABTP group, which has undertaken a vast program of restructuring and modernization of the vineyard and technical facilities. Managed by an experienced team, the estate benefits from demanding winemaking expertise, true to its classic style. Thanks to a vision focused on precision, sustainability, and respect for the terroir, the owners have enabled Cantemerle to return to the pinnacle of the Haut-Médoc appellation. This qualitative renewal, combined with an undiminished passion for wine, results in wines that are increasingly precise, balanced, and appealing.

Vinification and aging

The harvest, carried out by hand, includes meticulous sorting to retain only the most promising grapes. The wine then rests for 12 months in barrels, 40% of which are new, bringing finesse and complexity to each vintage.
