The Fratelli Alessandria vineyard stretches across the hills of Verduno, where Nebbiolo vines sink their roots into clay-limestone soils, ideal for crafting great wines. The diverse exposure and altitude of the plots create an ideal microclimate, promoting the slow ripening of the grapes. These unique conditions allow for the production of concentrated and aromatic fruit, essential for creating a Barolo with character. Viticulture is practiced with care, respecting natural cycles and preserving biodiversity.

    Owner and history

Today, Fratelli Alessandria is run by the fifth generation of the family. The Alessandria brothers, passionate about their craft, continue to innovate while remaining true to family values. They are committed to producing quality wines that reflect their terroir. Their artisanal approach and respect for the environment are at the heart of their philosophy. Each vintage is the result of hard work, unwavering passion, and a deep respect for nature, thus guaranteeing wines that tell the story of their land.

    Vinification and aging

The 2019 Monvigliero is made with complete respect for Piedmontese traditions. The hand-harvested grapes are destemmed and gently crushed before being placed in vats. Alcoholic fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature, allowing for a gentle extraction of tannins. After fermentation, the wine is aged in Slavonian oak barrels for an extended period, promoting the integration of aromas while preserving the purity of the fruit. This meticulous process results in a rich, complex, and harmonious Barolo.
