Volnay

Volnay is a village appellation in the Côte de Beaune, encompassing the communes of Volnay and Meursault in the Côte d'Or. Located between Pommard and Meursault, Volnay benefits from soils of white limestone and clay. The appellation covers 213 hectares, of which 126 are Premier Cru, producing 8,400 hectoliters of wine and 4,660 liters of Premier Cru wine.

Volnay is vinified exclusively as a red wine, made from Pinot Noir grapes. The vines are located between 230 and 280 meters above sea level.

The appellation has existed since 1937. The diversity of the terroir allows for the production of wines with a very wide aromatic range. Volnay benefits from early ripening.

Traditionally, Volnay wines are described as feminine in contrast to the masculine expression of Pommard. Their ruby ​​color and nose of red fruit and flowers are charming. The best vintages can develop beautiful aromas of sweet spices and game. A decade or more of aging allows these wines to fully open up. They are ideally served between 14 and 18°C.

Domaine Henri Delagrange

Domaine Henri Delagrange is located in Volnay and covers 14.5 hectares. Today, the ^sixth generation of the family runs the estate. Over the years, the estate has established itself as one of Volnay 's leading producers thanks to the finesse of its wines.

Domaine Comte Armand

Originally , Domaine Comte Armand consisted solely of the Clos Epeneaux vineyard. The quality of this exceptional vintage contributed to the estate's great renown. Gradually, the estate expanded, always striving for excellence. Today, it owns 9 hectares of vines in Pommard, Volnay, and Auxey-Duresses .

Domaine Joseph Voillot

Domaine Joseph Voillot has been passed down within the same family for six generations. The 10 hectares of vines are spread across 13 different appellations in Volnay. Each plot is vinified individually to preserve the full character of the terroir. Indigenous yeasts, traditional winemaking techniques, and aging in 25% new oak barrels all contribute to the excellence of the wines. The estate's wines are true treasures of Volnay .
