Owner and history

The Veuve Clicquot vineyard covers 390 hectares, a large portion of which is classified as Grands and Premiers Crus, a rarity in Champagne. It benefits from an exceptional terroir with chalky soils, ensuring excellent drainage and a unique minerality in the grapes. Sustainable farming practices, employed for many years, guarantee optimal respect for the environment and allow the full richness of the Champagne terroir to be expressed. The vines, primarily planted with Pinot Noir, give the cuvées their structure and intensity, while Chardonnay brings elegance and finesse.

Vinification and aging

La Grande Dame 2015 is made using traditional Champagne methods. After gentle pressing, alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve the purity of the aromas. Aging on the lees lasts for over six years, allowing the Champagne to develop a beautiful complexity and a silky texture. This long maturation also imparts a fine and persistent effervescence, the hallmark of an exceptional Champagne ready to stand the test of time.
