This unique geography, combined with its immediate proximity to the Gironde estuary, naturally regulates temperatures and protects the vines. The sustainable farming practices employed on the estate ensure optimal respect for the environment, while maintaining exceptional concentration in the grapes, guaranteeing the depth and longevity of Château Montrose wines.

Owner and history

Since 2022, Château Montrose has been led by Charlotte Bouygues (President) and Pierre Graffeuille (Managing Director), driven by a shared ambition: to establish the estate as a sustainable and responsible producer of excellence. Charlotte Bouygues continues the family's long-standing commitment while driving environmental innovation, while Pierre Graffeuille brings renowned oenological expertise acquired in the most prestigious Bordeaux vineyards. Together, they are shaping the future of Montrose, blending tradition and modernity to effectively address current climate challenges. Their ambitious vision guarantees the 2024 vintage will be of remarkable quality, respectful of the terroir, and promises exceptional longevity.

Vinification and aging

At Château Montrose, winemaking is carried out with surgical precision, in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, separating each plot in order to best express its potential.
For the 2024 vintage, after gentle extraction and meticulous fermentations, the aging takes place for 18 to 20 months in French oak barrels, of which approximately 60% are new, giving the wine superb structure and complexity.
