The Château Boyd-Cantenac vineyard is meticulously cultivated on clay-gravel soils, typical of the Margaux appellation. This unique composition promotes optimal drainage and even ripening of the grapes, allowing the terroir's character to fully express itself. The vines, averaging 30 years old, benefit from ideal sun exposure and a temperate oceanic climate, which contributes to the grapes' aromatic richness. Respect for biodiversity and sustainable practices are central to vineyard management, guaranteeing consistent and authentic quality in every bottle produced.

    Owner and history

Today, Château Boyd-Cantenac is managed by a passionate family who have successfully combined tradition and innovation. Committed to sustainable viticulture, the owners are dedicated to preserving the estate's heritage while elevating it to new heights. Their vision is to produce wines that faithfully reflect the essence of Margaux, while adapting to contemporary challenges. Thanks to their dedication and expertise, Boyd-Cantenac continues to shine on the world wine stage, attracting enthusiasts and connoisseurs seeking new and exciting experiences.

    Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Château Boyd-Cantenac is a meticulous process that begins with hand-harvesting at optimal ripeness. The grapes are carefully sorted before being destemmed and crushed. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, allowing for precise temperature management and optimal extraction of aromas. After fermentation, the wine is aged in oak barrels, some of which are new, for 12 to 18 months. This barrel aging imparts delicate woody notes and added complexity to the wine. Each step of the winemaking process is carried out with care to respect the unique character of the terroir and the vintage.
