Tasting notes

The 2024 Château Margaux boasts an intense garnet robe with purple highlights. The nose reveals a complex bouquet of floral aromas, ripe black fruit, cedar, and graphite. On the palate, the attack is silky, structured by fine tannins and a lovely freshness. The wine evolves into a full-bodied, precise, and persistent wine. The long and elegant finish confirms the great aging potential of this vintage.

Food & wine pairings

This wine pairs perfectly with a beef fillet in a crust, a roast pigeon or a tournedos Rossini.

The Château Margaux vineyard covers 82 hectares dedicated to red wines, planted on a terroir of fine gravel over a limestone base, offering optimal drainage and excellent grape ripeness. High planting density and rigorous selection guarantee consistent quality. The vines, averaging 35 years old, are cultivated according to the principles of sustainable viticulture. The unique terroir of Margaux is distinguished by unparalleled finesse and aromatic complexity, giving the wines a rare elegance, remarkable aging potential, and a distinctive sensory character.

Owner and history

Since 1977, the Mentzelopoulos family has been dedicated to the legacy of Château Margaux, guided by exacting standards and passion. Today, under the direction of Corinne Mentzelopoulos, the estate seamlessly blends tradition and modernity. Under her leadership, the estate has invested in state-of-the-art infrastructure while simultaneously strengthening its environmental commitment. Supported by an elite team led by Philippe Bascaules, the property pursues a constant quest for excellence, striving to reveal, vintage after vintage, the purest expression of the Margaux terroir. This meticulous attention to detail and elegance has earned the wines their worldwide renown.

Vinification and aging

At Château Margaux, vinification is carried out plot by plot in an ultramodern gravity-flow winery, guaranteeing precision and respect for the fruit. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by a long maceration.
The 2024 vintage is then aged for 18 to 24 months in 100% new French oak barrels, with limited lees stirring to preserve the fruit's vibrancy. This meticulous aging process strengthens the wine's structure while refining its tannins.
