The Château Branaire-Ducru vineyard covers 60 hectares, spread across some fifteen micro-terroirs in the southern part of the Saint-Julien appellation. These plots benefit from alluvial and siliceous gravel soils dating back to the Quaternary period, providing excellent drainage and warmth conducive to optimal grape ripening. The vines, averaging 35 years old, are cultivated using environmentally friendly practices, guaranteeing the quality and authenticity of each vintage.

Owner and history

Since 2017, Château Branaire-Ducru has been managed by François-Xavier Maroteaux, son of the late Patrick Maroteaux, who was a key figure in the estate's revival. Under their leadership, Branaire-Ducru has strengthened its commitment to quality, combining traditional expertise with technical innovation. Their vision is clear: to enhance the terroir's identity with finesse, precision, and respect for the environment. Deeply committed to the future, François-Xavier Maroteaux continues to invest in the winery and vineyards to ensure the long-term viability of this 4th Growth Classified estate, while simultaneously establishing a sustainable approach to the estate.

Vinification and aging
