The Château d'Armailhac vineyard stretches across clay-limestone soils, typical of the Pauillac appellation. This terroir, rich in minerals, gives the grapes exceptional quality, allowing for optimal ripening. The vines, averaging 30 years old, are cultivated with care, respecting the cycles of nature. The oceanic climate, with its maritime influences, fosters a perfect balance between heat and humidity, essential to the health of the vines and the richness of the aromas. Each harvest is a promise of quality, reflecting the unique character of this exceptional terroir.

    Owner and history

Currently, Château d'Armailhac belongs to the Rothschild family, who acquired the estate in 1989. This prestigious family, renowned for its expertise in crafting fine wines, has preserved the estate's heritage while contributing its own unique approach. Their commitment to sustainable and environmentally responsible viticulture is central to their philosophy. Thanks to their vision, Château d'Armailhac continues to produce wines that blend tradition and innovation, captivating wine lovers worldwide.

    Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Château d'Armailhac is carried out with meticulous care. The grapes are harvested by hand, ensuring the selection of only the finest fruit. After careful destemming, the berries undergo a cold pre-fermentation maceration, allowing for the extraction of delicate aromas. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation to soften the acidity. Aging then occurs in oak barrels, some of which are new, for 12 months. This traditional method, combined with modern techniques, results in wines that are both powerful and elegant, true to the estate's identity.
