Château Dauzac , 5th Grand Cru Classé, has its roots in the 12th century; today it is recognized for its technical rigor and ecological commitment, revealing a modern and precise style.

    Notes and pairings

    Notes and pairings

    Tasting notes

Brane-Cantenac 2009 offers a deep nose of ripe blackcurrant, violet and cedar, followed by a silky, harmonious palate with melted tannins and a long, delicately smoky finish.
Palmer 2015 displays an enchanting aroma of blackberry, sweet spices, dried rose and cocoa, with a full, velvety palate of remarkable intensity and an almost tactile texture.
Dauzac 2021 seduces with its clear aromas of crisp red fruits, peony and wet stone; the palate is straight, precise, elegant, carried by a perfectly integrated freshness.

    Food & wine pairings

Brane-Cantenac 2009 will ideally accompany a roast beef fillet, a duck breast or a cep risotto.

Palmer 2015 will enhance a rack of lamb, a roast pigeon or a tournedos Rossini.

Dauzac 2021 pairs perfectly with roasted farm poultry, veal with morels or pressed cheeses.

The three estates are based on the iconic gravelly terroirs of Margaux, benefiting from exceptional natural drainage and ideal exposure.

Brane-Cantenac exploits deep gravelly slopes producing elegant and delicate wines.

Palmer is based on a terroir of fine gravel mixed with clays which give voluptuousness and tannic power.

Dauzac cultivates 49 hectares using sustainable agriculture methods, on Garonne gravel soils which provide tension and elegance.

    Owner and history

Château Brane-Cantenac is run by the Lurton family, who perpetuate a refined style focused on the purity of the fruit and the elegance of the terroir.

Château Palmer belongs to the Sichel and Mähler-Besse families, who have instilled a modernist spirit and a strong commitment to biodynamics.

Château Dauzac, owned by the Bernard Magrez group until 2020, is now in the hands of MAIF, which pursues a qualitative vision combining innovation and respect for the environment.

    Vinification and aging

Brane-Cantenac 2009 is the result of meticulous plot-by-plot vinification, with aging in oak barrels of which approximately 60% are new, revealing the purity of its Cabernet Sauvignon.

Palmer 2015, produced biodynamically, benefits from precise fermentation followed by prolonged aging in new barrels (approximately 65%), bringing texture and depth.

Dauzac 2021, very technical, favours gentle extractions and measured aging in barrels (50–60% new) in order to preserve the natural freshness of the vintage.

    The team's opinion

Three superb Margaux, each revealing its identity: the classic depth of Brane-Cantenac, the legendary sensuality of Palmer and the contemporary precision of Dauzac.
