The vines were entrusted to sharecroppers, and the winemaking was carried out by the cooperative winery ofVinzellesIn 1969, Jean-Paul Bret joined his parents at the head of the estate.SoufrandièreThe vineyard area then comprises 4.55 hectares: 4 hectares inPouilly-Vinzelles“Les Quarts” climate and 0.55 hectares inPouilly-Vinzellesclimate“Les Longeays”In 1998, Jean-Paul's children took over the family estate and stopped using the Vinzelles cooperative winery for harvesting and winemaking. Thus, the 2000 vintage was the first wine vinified, aged, and bottled at La Soufrandière. It was also a pivotal year for the estate, as it was then undergoing conversion to organic farming.organic and biodynamic viticultureSince then, several hectares of vines have been added. THELa Soufrandière estateis a family estate driven by a desire to expand the vineyard, innovate, and respect the terroir. Indeed, they did not hesitate to extend the estate's cellar in 2012, bringing it to 480 square meters. This allows them to vinify, age, and store their wines under optimal conditions.Domaine La SoufrandièreOpting for a cultureorganic and biodynamicis also a guarantee of respect for the terroir that surrounds them. Indeed, the 11 hectares of vineyards extend across a multitude of Jurassic clay-limestone terroirs, very red clay, and so-called "entroques" limestone. Only one grape variety is cultivated there, theChardonnaywhich adapts perfectly to all these nuances of the terroir. The vines, aged between 33 and 80 years, are harvested exclusively by hand to preserve the grapes as much as possible. Furthermore, they have opted for the production of micro-cuvées to vinify the grapes plot by plot. Thus, the great variety of terroirs and viticulturebiologicalallow the production of wines of great diversity and with a real personality.
